aniMeals Check Presentation + Volunteer

On August 18th, AAYGC members Leilani, Nicole, Skylar, Brandon, Ashton, Tyler, Ethan, Jeffrey, volunteered and presented a grant check of $3,000 to aniMeals. Ashton and Brandon represented AAYGC and presented the check to Warren Wenner, VP of aniMeals.

AAYGC kid and mom members sorted, packed, and delivered dry dog and cat food to homebound seniors. The organization buys the pet food in bulk so heaving lifting was involved. During the delivery, Jeffrey and other boys witnessed some seniors living in 100-degree conditions. They were glad the delivery of the pet food made the seniors’ lives a little easier on that day. Ashton shared it was a great experience meeting very cute dogs and the nicest seniors. Ethan who loves dogs greatly enjoyed this meaningful volunteer opportunity with his friends. He highly encourages young people to help.

Over 1,200 pets are enrolled in the program. 5 tons of food are needed each month to fill the need and 200 volunteers help to keep the programs running. Because kibbles aren't complete without a treat, volunteers also deliver donated biscuits, catnip toys, squeaky balls and other pet products.

We love the impact that the aniMeals has in the community by delivering over 9,000 lbs of pet food each month so that seniors are able to keep their pets and maintain good health for themselves and their animals.
