Alliance Family Wellness Center Site Visit & 2018 Check Presentation

Alliance Wellness Center started a Summer Youth Program at Las Americas School to help keep youth safe and introduce them to various sports and field activities during the month of June.

On June 27, 2018, AAYGC founding members Jeffrey, Ethan, and Ashton visited the Summer Youth Program and donated $1000 to fund sports equipment (soccer jerseys) and supplies (water/snacks). Alliance plans to use the soccer jerseys over and over again.

AAYGC members had a great experience meeting and coaching the students during one of their practices. Ashton said he could see that the soccer program will really benefit the students and many of them are outstanding soccer players. Jeffrey, a long time soccer player, said he will come back sometime soon to assist the coach and bring the kids new soccer balls. Members also learned Las Americas Newcomer School is for newly arrived refugees who do not speak English. They are supported for up to one year at Las Americas before enrolling in the regular school system. This is a very important program and AAYGC is excited to support Alliance.

Special thanks to the dedicated team of Alliance (Dr. Peta-gay Ledbetter, Kasey Wolff and Dr. Omar Jaber), coaches from First and Goal (Tyrone Smith, President), and lead counselor at Las Americas School (Ms. Sarah Howell).a
